It’s an exciting season, isn’t it? Once the new cars start to roll out, there is a crisp sense of objective in the air. This year, the carmakers are tough at it again after a troubled period, and although things aren’t easy, everyone is trying to do good work. The time for making excuses has ended, and now may be the time for making cars. For all of us, every new form promises to direct down a road that people haven’t taken before, and new individuals, distant places, and great adventures lie at the end of it. Every new car is a good drive waiting to happen.
The Camaro Z/28 can be back and should be better than ever. Meant to recall the initial, race-ready homologation specific from the late 1960s, the Z/28 offers been slated to return since the revival of the Camaro in 2010, but it didn’t make it to the street because Chevy engineers wished a worthy engine. Actually the supercharged, 580-hp V-8 from the ZL1 couldn’t reduce it. The Z/28’s centerpiece is the usually aspirated V-8 from the outgoing Corvette Z06, and it’s complemented by a six-speed manual transmission (and only a six-speed manual), track-prepared suspension, and carbon-ceramic brakes. It gets the same refreshed look that each Camaro gets for 2014, however the Z/28 looks more hard-core. However, this Camaro is probably not the track monster you are hoping for, because the baseline for the Z/28’s 300-pound weight loss is relative to the 4120-pound Camaro ZL1. The 2014 Chevrolet SS comes to the United States through Australia, where it is known as the Holden Commodore, the automobile that also spawned the short-resided but well-loved Pontiac G8. The SS goes up contrary to the brutish SRT versions of the Dodge Charger and the Chrysler 300 when it comes to tire-shredding capability, although its non-descript style doesn’t quite suit the Mopar twins with regards to muscle-car swagger. – JC

Chevrolet is well Chevrolet, not much more I can offer by way of an opinion other than pointing out the obvious. I was never really into Chevrolet and still have not changed.
