First off got to say the looks of the 2014 Mazda 6 is rather good. It’s about time Mazda join Hyundai, Nissan, Kia and a few other import brands that have fully refreshed their exterior looks. The interior actually looks rather nice as well. However I am not a fan of those three ‘pod’ looking things for the gauges but bleh, it looks pretty nice. I also love the gated shifter and the control wheel just below. As a shock, it’s still nice to see vehicles in 2014 coming equipped with an actual hand parking brake. Most newer vehicles are doing away with that in favor of the foot parking brake. One downside that must be mentioned, at least in my semi-evil opinion is the three spoke steering wheel. I have to say I’m a die hard fan of the four spoke steering wheel. Overall the 2014 Mazda 6 will be a rather nice rental car. I’ll have to work on renting one to get a better sense of the performance and other such boring items to offer a more refined review and/or rant. Additionally it must be mentioned that this is the diesel version.
